At Plane Designs, we create whirligigs and wind vanes for the garden.

We design plans and scale and adapt them to create the whirligigs. Once the treated timber is cut and the desired shape is achieved they are sanded and the smaller details are added. They are then painted and detailed to the individuals requirements and finished with hard wearing external varnish to protect them outdoors. There are many designs to choose from. We have some example pictures of our work in the gallery. If you are looking for a specific design or personalised whirligig please feel free to get in touch and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

whirligigs

We create a standard range of whirligigs for our customers.  Standard designs are the Super marine Spitfire, Hawker Hurricane, Avro Lancaster, de Havilland Mosquito, Messerschmitt ME109, North American P51 Mustang, and the Mitsubishi Zero. These can all have varied paint schemes and detailing to the customer requirements.

We also have a bespoke service, which can sometimes be a little trickier and take a little longer, but if you would like a specific whirligig made, just ask and we can see if it would be possible.
